I'm looking for pen friends
I read this idea of Isabella of having a pen friend
and I thought that would be very interesting to write to people from all around the world!
If you are interested in writing me, you can send me a message!
Basic infos about me:
I'm Arianna and I live in Italy, I'm 15, I'm into foreign languages, reading, baking and I'm interested in fashion and foreign cultures.
I do modern jazz dance as a hobby, I study Chinese and I'm taking sewing lessons.

I want to be become a translator, but I would also like to have a hotel or restaurant with my friend.
Sometimes I'm shy but I love laughing! There are days in which I'm sad, but then I realize everything goes on and gets better, if you want it to. I am not very positive, but I'm learning about life everyday.

Let me know if you wanna be pen friends!! =) If you want to know more about me just p.m.! Bye!

Do it yourself: Chromology book!
Are you seraching for a new hobby?
Well, chromology, the study of colours, might be interesting!
This D.I.Y. is about havng a journal with colour schemes, palettes, everything about colours!

You will need:
- a notebook, journal, agenda.. anything you want to write and paste in!

- glue and scissors

- colorful photos that you find very pretty, or even in black & white, because they're colours too, at least in my opinion.

- magazines or pictures you printed from polyvore or from the Internet.

- You can decorate the cover as you prefer.
You can use feathers, glitter, pictures, stickers.. use your imagination.

- On the first page, I think that would be pretty to draw something.. or write the word "colour" in many different languages and in different colours!
You can even paste desiccated flowers, if they're particularly bright!

On the pages of your notebook, you can..
-write quotes about colours, paste pictures, write how the colours make you feel.. (relaxed, romantic.. etc.)

- do colour palettes! Like in the set. You take a photo and then extrapolate from it the colours and draw them under the pic. I know I haven't explained it well, sorry.. look at the set! :)

- paste or write recipes of colorful & bright food

- paste pieces of colorful fabric, maybe in circles, like in the set!

- make a "tell me your fave colour & I'll tell something about you" page

- write what meanings different colours have all around the world (example, in China colour white is for death & ghosts and red is a festive & wedding colour)

- paste a picture like these ones , or draw it yourself!! http://society6.com/acme/Color-Palette_Print

- design bedrooms with amazing colour schemes, have a section for interior designing colour schemes..

- insert a nail polish book with all your nail polish colours

- paste wrapping paper..

- draw, let your imagination run wild.. write..

- have a fashion section where you explain what colours fit the country style more, like beige, green, white.. or add pictures of fashion shows..
- paste pictures of houses or gardens, I really like the one in the set in the left corner! It's so cheerful! :D Hope I helped you & that you liked this tip!

Tips on decorating small bedrooms

Tips on decorating small bedrooms
If you have a small room, and you want it to look more spacious, here are some tips.

● Paint the walls a light colour, preferably white. Dark walls can make it look like a box.

●Keeping your room tidy will surely improve the situation: less things all around the room and less chaos.

● Curtains, I really like long ones, they add a lush and romantic touch. If you're into curtains like me, I would suggest to buy long ones because short ones will "cut" the space into two parts..
Venetian blinds are also really cute in my opinion, they're often used in offices, but I think they can make the room look lighter.. maybe? I don't know if that's just me!

● Light colours for the floor, too.
If you really want a dark colour, paint the walls with a bright but light one to make some contrast.
Avoid lots of carpets, especially small ones.

● Instead of many chairs, you may put an hammock.. I know, this may sound a little bit exaggerated, but that would be fun, wouldn't it?

● Lights! You don't want half of your room to be unseen 'cause there's no sufficient light, so have a light bulb or a little light.... chandeliers add a "marie antoinette" touch xD, but if your room is very small, I would go for something more simple & less showy.

Posters. I have none in my room, but some people like to have their walls covered with posters. Now. My friend has tons of posters & her room is tiny, but it's very cute! Personally, I think it doesn't make the room look much smaller, but if you entirely cover the walls with them, well, it gives the same effect as dark walls: not light and not very spacious.

Beds. If there are 2 or more of you in the room, I suggest buying a bunk bed. I think they are very pretty but only some of them. I would like to have it in my room even though I'm an only child. My friend sleeps alone in her room but she has this one in her room and under it she has a little sofa. http://weheartit.com/entry/38354273?group=A&imgres=bunk+bed+ikea

Windows- if you're so lucky you have big windows, and your small room doesn't need curtains, I suggest not to put them, they may make the room look smaller..

I found this helpful tip I reccomend to you, it was made by thehowtogirlies, a tip account. :) http://www.polyvore.com/how_to_make_your_room/set?id=68142052

byee! hope I helped you

Having an adventurous life

Having an adventurous life
LIfe sometimes seems boring, if you're afraid to dare and have new experiences.

I tell you, even if you've heard it a thousand times, you better do things and then regret than regret of haven't done them.
I guess that's what we call life, that's how it works, we fall and then walk again. :)

Some tips I'd like to give you to have a more adventurous life are..

- don't be afraid, you're just like everyone else, be the way you happen to be, don't worry!

- explore! :) Have you ever explored your whole town? My mother told me she used to walk in the streets without even looking at the street's name, I mean, without knowing where she was going. I was downtown this summer and I decided to do it, I discovered some new places I had never seen before.

- are you a curious person, do you like to always know more, discover, and understand? Well, I am, I like to watch television quizzes, documentaries, in Italy we have a tv channel full of documentaries about places in the world you've never seen like Kazakhistan or some deserts, and they talk with the people from there. Watching this documentaries opens my eyes, and my mind!

- collect! (you're saying mhm..what??) well, I used to collect stupid and unuseful stuuf, like m&m's packets, and stuff, but you may collect interesting , original things like stones, leaves, or even the more common stamps. Oh, I also collect postacards and candy papers I liked..
I also really like elephants and I'd like to collect elephants stuff but that's not very interesting.

- Do crazy (but safe) things- I don't wanna sound like your mother, saying stay safe etc. etc. but yeah I mean life adventures, do things you usually wouldn't do, like.. I don't know, go on an air balloon, or go hiking, try bungee jumping (yes I know it's quite a classic of the bucket lists) and you may also write your own "Adventurous Bucket List"

- Travel!!! And when you travel, I mean trying to understand different cultures, religions, talking with the native people, trying typical foods, exchange two words with the people in the restaurant you go to.. yes, just.. discover, talk, find out what you like about that culture.. and what you didn't know!

- You don't need to go to Singapore or New Zealand to have amazing incredible never-heard-about-it experiences, I bet in your own country you can have several!
Go to natural parks, go snorkeling, have a trip to the mountains, go skiing, just go for a walk in your block, but try to discover and feed you will to know more about the world

- Television news may sometimes be fake, or boring, or just depressing. I know.
Anyway, don't you feel involved and proud when you know something new about your country, the politic of these days, the economy, how it all is going? I do.. I remember even I'm not 18 yet, I'm a citizen, and I have a role! For example some school do projects about economical or social themes, why don't youtake part in them?

- You can write your adventure book, but you probably have one already, or you may take lots of photos while you're travelling or just walking around, and you may print some, paste them in your journal, or on your walls.

When you go to the sea, you can collect seashells and well, what I'm trying to say is, some things may seem unuseful but they're pretty and they can remind you of your good times with your family or alone.

Try and listen to different kinds of music! Me and my school mates have written a research about tex-mex culture, the food and the music.
I've found out tex mex music, like Flaco Jimenez or Ry Cooder, has a catchy and joyful sound!
Isn't it nice when you discover an artist or music genre, maybe not very famous, who you enjoy listening to?

Live, and do not be afraid of your choices. I think you can repare to them if you really want to. Maybe, not always, or it may take a lot of time.
But, in my personal opinion, not daring and not trying won't make your life easier nor enjoyable.

My school subjects

My school subjects
Yes, I know, you probably don't care but I've seen that one girl (Nadja) from the-polyvore-tipgirls has made a set like this one and I liked the idea. I'm curious to know which subjects study other people from all over the world! So I said myself , I could make one too. Oh and before you ask, I'm 15, it's my second year of highschool. My highschool has 3 "directions": -economic sciences, -social and psychological sciences and -languages.
I chose languages.

- Italian (the language I speak in my country, Italy)
- English
- German
- Spanish
- History/Geography
- Biology (we study chemistry sometimes, too)
- Mathematics (Algebra)
- Latin (it's my last year of Latin, we study it for 2 years)

- Religion

- P.E.

- Next year I'm starting History of Arts, and Philosophy and we won't study Latin anymore.

P.S. In Italy, we choose the school, and if you go to a languages high school, you choose wich class to be in, and you go to that same class for all your years. We never choose which classes to take. They're all obligatory, you only choose the "direction" of the school. I hope you understood a little bit how Italian high school works.
Last year girls from Australia came to our school and told us Italian school is boring. I agree, but I quite enjoy the subjects I study, even though they may not be super fun!

Oh, and the extracurricular activities are: japanese, chinese and theatre. I take chinese lessons. =) I'll start in January.

Bye! P.m. or comment here! =) I'd be glad to know how it works in your country!!
